Spring 2012: Region4: Transformation Through Imagination; an art exhibition at the Thomas Center Main Gallery, Gainesville and tour to additional venues through 2013

This exhibition includes works by thirty Gainesville artists who are collaborating with scientists to express the science and emotions associated with living in proximity to a toxic Superfund site, the Cabot-Koppers site located in Northeast Gainesville. Organized in collaboration with the Superfund Art Project (SAP) and the City of Gainesville Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs.

Artist's Workshop - Saturday, September 17 from 10 am to 12 pm. Thomas Center, Gainesville, Florida. The workshop will give the artists an opportunity to see additional visual material related to the Superfund site and to talk with scientist Pat Cline who has been working with the EPA on plans for the clean-up

Based on research funded by the Florida Humanities Council begun in Fall 2010, this art exhibit looks at the Fountain of Youth myth and the diverse images created by Florida artists that are based on the story. Organized in collaboration with the Florida Humanities Council and the City of Gainesville Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs.
